Only recently we lost a truly well respected friend, colleague, member, Past Captain and Match Secretary.
Charlie was a great character and did a power of work on behalf of Portpatrick Dunskey Golf Club. He will be remembered with great fondness by all the members and by a huge number of visitors , who over the years took part in many of the Open competitions here at Dunskey.
Charlie was renowned for his attention to detail, military precision and successful organisation of these events.
He was a great fan of junior golf, fairness all round and much more, including working in the same front office where he would invariably impart a wealth of knowledge and fun! I am delighted to say that from now on, the Junior Order of Merit Shield will be called the Charlie Hannah Memorial Shield, which reflects his enjoyment of and dedication to junior golf over many years.
We all miss him and our thoughts are with Dorothy, Wendy and Gordon at this time.
